Kathy taught elementary school for many years. She and her husband Chuck raised two daughters and now enjoy the company of their five grandchildren. Now retired\, Kathy shares her passion for education through children's literature\, inspiring curiosity and wonder in children through her second career as an author.\nHer love for children and children's literature has always been her inspiration. The idea for Sunken-Shipwrecks of Lake Superior was driven by Kathy's daughters who became interested in shipwrecks on a circle tour of Lake Superior when they were very young.  After an exhaustive and unproductive search for children's books about shipwrecks\, Kathy decided to write one. Twenty-eight years later the book was finished. Since then\, she has published The Shell Box and continued the Sunken series with Sunken-Shipwrecks of Lake Michigan. Her most recent book\, Ocean Party will be available June 2024.\n\n\n\nEllsworth Public Library is committed to supporting diversity\, inclusion\, and well-being within the communities we serve.
